Jim MM0DXD on the Mic The day was a great sunny day which was very hot and close indeed. (much better than rain!!) First of all it was all hands on deck to build the tent then it was the turn of the beams and then the erecting of the masts with beams atop. A total of three masts were erected, one for 2m, 70cm's and 6m. For once we were ready well in advance of the starting time of the Contest and able to carry out a few short tests in readiness. The 6m beam was taken down about 2am Sunday morning by MM0DUN and 2M0GTR and the 4m beam erected in it's place ready for the 4m contest in the morning. |

Picture shows the slop of the hill and the fact that the beams were positioned at differing heights. |

A 500w floodlight was positioned outside of the tent at night to light up the club banner which also doubled up to keep the bugs that were attracted to the light out of the tent. |

Thanks to George MM0GGD, Andy MM3KDN, Jim MM0DXD, Dave MM0HGN, and Stuart 2M0GTR for coming along and helping out and to the combined efforts of Martin MM0DUN, and Ally MM0DRA for organising the weekend.
MM0DUN went to bed about 3.30am UTC and arose again about 5.30am UTC to make a fresh start on 2m and to get the voice keyer up and running. This had been put to the side on Saturday following a keying up problem associated with the USB to Serial convertor lead. The Club notebook PC and voice keyer on MM0DUN's IC-7400 was used for the balance of the weekends CQ calls.
